The Power of Belief

A human can naturally, by design, connect high or low. It is a person’s choice. Connect high to profound ideas, ways of thinking, constructive behaviour, potent forces; or to low forces that have no business in human affairs. In essence we can be anything we want to be. Made to evolve, the human makeup can lend itself to any kind of process, inside of a limitless gradient of possibilities.

When a person or congregation of people connect to and processes sub-human forces, by degree they lose the ability to feel and think like a human, to the point of losing touch with the essence of being human. They always have the choice to embark on a journey back up the bar of the human option, but some are too far gone, having become possessed by, in the spell of, and a feeding point for forces that have little to nothing to do with their professed ideology.

In the case of tyrants and dictators, the central theme threading itself through their radiation and language is a multitude of variants of ‘if I cannot have it, I will destroy it, oppress it, suppress it’. Their ease of using destruction-implying threats reflecting their depth of disconnection from the feelings that define a normal human being.

How to go about dealing with an insane juvenile delinquent in a suit recklessly waving a weapon of mass destruction? Bearing in mind that their attitude to the sacredness of life renders them meaningless and expendable in the bigger picture of the human opportunity.

What is the way forward for those who truly care?

While we know that there is no easy answer to the quagmire that the world is in, made worst by most of the proposed ‘solutions’, the constructive mindset shines light on the quality and power of belief.

The belief that there are, at influence, powers that can engender transformation and change. The belief that decency will prevail. The belief that the future is infinitely more powerful than the past, that change is in the air, and that we live in times of transition, where sudden turnarounds for the good may be the order of the day.

The gardener cannot be the water, but he or she can connect the hose to a water source, for water to then do its magic
